Wre are scheduled for hot weather, and worrying will not cool it any. On the other hand, worrying is sure to make you Feel much hotter. Take things easy. Smile at the other fellow when lie says he is hot. Be good natured. A cool temper and a sunny disposition go well with hot weauier. For comfort, dress according to the season. Tiiis is pre eminently the season for light colors and light weight, porous, loose fitting clothes. Tight fitting clothes are for women only. Mere man will never be induced to imprison himself within close fitting clothes. Under summer tem peratures it is burden enough for him to be required to keep within the bounds of modesty in regard to clothing. Don’t live in a room in which there is no fresh air. Don’t work in room in which there is no fresh air- Don't sleep in a room in which there is no fresh air. Consumption causes more deaths than flood, famine, fire earthquake, war, and tornado all combined. Prevention is better than cure and far cheaper. • Notice The Republican voters of North Liberty township are hereby noti fied to meet and hold their pri mary at Yadkinville Saturday August 3rd* 1912, at 2 o’c lock p. m, for the purpose of electing dele - gates to the County Convention. This July 8, 1£12. j J. E. SHOD ART, (Chairman Liberty 'township Com, Learn How To Handle Your j Tools — j One queer idea father pre valent in the South is that when a farm implement fails to do good work on some man’s farm it is the fault of the ma chine. Now a little thought should convince anyone that nine times out of ten it must be file fault of the man. All farm implements are not per fect, of course, and no one of them is likely to be best un der all conditions; blit it needs only a moment’s reflection to convince a man who thinks, no one can afiord to make and sell a machine that will not do good work if given a fair chance — certainly no man or firm with a large investment of capital or with a.reputation to loose, or make,- can afford to do so. I have seen men har row their corn and drag out a lot of it, but it wasn’t the liar rows fault. It was because the land had been poorly pre pared, lx cause the harrow teeth were not properly set, and because the driver did not know his business. On land prepared as it should be I can run a barrow all da}7 and not pull up Enough corn tor an\-j one to notice it at all two days j later. The man who does not get good results with any standard farm implement should first of all make sure that he is handling it proper ly.-—Shop Man, in the Pro gressive Banner. y-- — Swaim Denies Reports Mr. W. F. Swaim, ‘who’s card appears in another col umn, has a few words to say in regard to some reports that have been circulated about him as follows: “It having been reported in some sections of the Count}7 that my educational qualifica tions were not sufficient to ad mininister the duties of the office of Treasurer of Yadkin County. I hereby take this step to deny these reports. I have been List taKer for Knobs township two times; have been in the merchantile business for 12 years and have done all my book-keeping, etc. during that time. Ail I ask is a square deal with the good Republicans of Yadkin and I am sure they will give it to me* W. F. SWAIM. j If you are a housewife you can j not reasonably hope to be healthy or beautiful by washing - dishes' weeping and d'oingjjhousework nil i day, and crawling intoned dead tired at night. It will pay you as well as give pleasure to your family. Get to work on good roads in your community, if you haven’t them already. Then get a gentle horse your wife Can drive and see that it is at her disposal at least once a week. Get a buggy for her tg ride in instead of having to use the old heavy farm wagon. Subscribe for one or two good magazines for her. Make her your business partner and consult with her about everything. The chances are she has just as much sense and business judgment as you and she may have more. And remember that an; - thing 3’ou can do to increase your wife’s health and happi ness will increase 3^0111* own and that of the whole family. —Mrs. Lillian Brooks Gatlin, in the Progressive Farmer. ....— , . -« Institute in Full Blast The Temdiers Institut be ing conducted by Prof, T.
